Death Stranding has been one of the most anticipated upcoming games ever since Hideo Kojima announced the game a number of years ago. Many people were not expecting to see the game this year, but Kojima Productions and PlayStation gave us plenty of announcements this morning, including the release date that we told you about earlier. In addition to that, multiple editions for Death Stranding were also announced, including a very special Collector’s Edition that people will really be wanting.
Beyond the base version of Death Stranding, there are multiple editions to select from that vary in price and the contents included. First is the Special Edition at $69.99, which includes a steelbook case, special Gold “Ludens Mask” sunglasses earning through gameplay, a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack, as well as a behind the scenes making of video for the soundtrack.
For $10 more at $79.99, you can get the Death Stranding Digital Deluxe Edition where you get everything from the prior except for the steelbook case, 10 PSN character avatars, as well as a Gold Power Skeleton, Gold All-Terrain Skeleton, and a Gold Armor Plate (Level 2), all of which are earned through gameplay.
Lastly, we have the most expensive and the best of the bunch with the $199.99 Death Stranding Collector’s Edition. Not only do you get everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition plus the steelbook case, you also get a Ludens keychain, a life-sized BB Pod statue, a BRIDGES Cargo Case to carry it all in.
The Collector’s Edition for Death Stranding is definitely expensive, but it sounds like it is one amazing package all around. As we’ve seen in the past, we’ll have to see when the game comes out if it is actually worth the expensive price tag.
