Injustice 2 is chugging along, pushing out characters here and there to help the game remain fresh for fans. It wasn’t too long ago that Starfire was added to the roster, but it looks like Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios already has the next set of characters lined up, announcing that Fighter Pack 2 will herald the inclusion of Hellboy, Black Manta and Raiden to the game’s roster.
Fighter Pack 2 is a little strange, especially when compared to the previous one. Injustice 2’s first Fighter Pack introduced two DC characters, Red Hood and Starfire, and one Mortal Kombat, Sub Zero. In contrast, this DLC pack only has one character that is actually from DC — Black Manta. The other two, Raiden and Hellboy, are from Mortal Kombat and Dark Horse Comics, respectively.
Of course, its not like NetherRealm Studios hasn’t made it clear in the past that guest characters are more than welcome to join its roster. Characters such as Jason Vorhees, Predator, Leatherface and even God of War’s Kratos has been included in other NetherRealm-developed titles at one point or another.
All three characters are worthy additions to the roster, just that its likely some will take pause over the fact that there is only one DC character being added this time around.
At any rate, Fighter Pack 2 will be available for purchase on September 12, with the first character being available for early access on the same day. Furthermore, players who have purchased the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition, Injustice 2 Ultimate Pack or the Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 2 will have early access to each of the three new fighters as a bundle before they’re available individually.
Injustice 2 is available now on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
