Recommended Videos

If you’re a gamer coming into the world of Overwatch 2 for the first time, you may be trying to find out why you can’t access all the characters right off the bat. While the game is now Free To Play, there are still a few mysteries surrounding this new title, including the ways that you’ll have to unlock characters.

Let’s dive in and see what you’ll need to do to finally unlock your new favorite hero and if there is a faster way around the required steps needed. Here is everything you need to do to unlock all of the heroes in Overwatch 2!

How To Unlock All Heroes In Overwatch 2

There are going to be a few different ways that you’ll be able to unlock all of these different characters, one costing no money at all, and the other option costing a few dollars to unlock everything you’ll need to get started. Let’s go into details about both of these different options, so you can make the right choice for yourself and find out which way you would like to play.

Unlocking Heroes While Playing Overwatch 2

With the newest entry in the Overwatch series going Free To Play, you may need to put in some work to unlock your favorite hero. You’ll need to compete and complete 100 Matches before you’ll unlock the whole roster, and with games usually taking around 5 to 10 minutes to complete, you’ll need to devote a serious amount of time to the game before you’ll be able to unlock everyone on the roster.

Thankfully, you may get lucky and pull your favorite character early so you don’t need to worry about how long you’ll have to play before you finally get your hands on Kiriko or Mei, so keep on trucking through. You’ll have your hands on a massive roster of characters in what feels like no time.

You’ll also be able to target specific heroes by completing different Hero Quests that are available in the game, and you’ll be able to see your progress as you complete each of these specific goals. That way, if there is a character that you’re in love with, you’ll be able to snag them up faster than ever before.

Purchasing The Watchpoint Pack

If you’re looking to get into the meat and potatoes of the game right away without needing to spend hours upon hours unlocking your characters, you’ll be able to purchase the Watchpoint Pack. This pack will give you instant access to all of the heroes in the game, as well as the Battle Pass and some skins to help you stand out from the crowd. While this may be the fastest way, it’s also the most pricey way to do it.

While it may take many hours to unlock all of the characters that the game has to offer, the Watchpoint Pack will set you back $39.99 – but will give you all of the content right off of the bat with no extra work. This is going to be for those players that know that they’re going to love the game, and are ready to dive right into it. Plus, getting a Battle Pass and some other goodies could be very tempting for players.

And that’s what you’ll need to do to unlock all of your new heroes in Overwatch 2.
